A Joy-filled Faith 9.11.20

A Joy-filled Faith 9.11.20

Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
Psalm 96:1–2.

Depression is spiking in our country due to the limits on our freedoms because of Covid-19. Joy-filled believers are needed more than ever.

Joy starts with a realization that God has given us salvation through faith in Christ. This faith is not a mere intellectual assent, it is a vital, vibrant, relationship. Second, we remember that God is in charge. Government officials rule with a power given them by God's approval. They do not govern the Lord! He governs them! Even viruses are under the authority and rule of the Lord. Consequently, we rejoice because we know nothing can ultimately destroy us.

The resurrection of Jesus is our cornerstone for hope. It is a bold declaration that our body can be killed, but our lives belong to Him . . . forever. We have NOTHING to fear if we are truly walking with Him. We have every reason to rejoice.

Too often Christians look as if they have been sucking a lemon! It is time to change that! The world needs to see the joy of the Lord pulsing through our veins. They need to see the joy and hope that comes through a relationship with Him. Be that "light" today.
