Trust 1.7.21

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.

“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so my ways are higher than your ways

and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

(Isaiah 55:8–9).

There are times we have to admit we don't know what God is doing. But even in those times, we can remind ourselves that He is at work. There is this notion in our heads that if God is not doing what we want Him to do, it must be because he is unresponsive. But that is not h case. God's ways are different from ours.

We want relief from pain; God wants us to grow in grace and truth. We want immediate results, God's timing is perfect. We think the best answer is the one we propose; God sometimes sees we are thinking too small. When we look back we see that God's way was always the best way.
