Correction 4.29.21

Correction 4.29.21

If you listen to constructive criticism,
you will be at home among the wise.
 If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself;
but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.
-Proverbs 15:31–32.

No one likes to hear criticism. However, we need to listen to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. These are words spoken by someone who is trying to help us grow. It may be a spouse, a parent, a co-worker, or even some stranger. Most of all, the Scriptures often say hard words designed to move us forward in faith.

We are great at making excuses. We resist correction. We immediately hear hard words as an attack. The Lord is telling us we must resist this impulse and listen. Others see things in us that we do not. Their criticism is a loving act. Their wounds are designed to bring us healing. They are gifts given to us by God.
