Dive in 6.6.21
“If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.
It seems that many see their relationship with Christ much like their membership in a club or a gathering with friends. It is something we enjoy when we have the opportunity and desire. It is one of the options in our lives.
Jesus wants more! Our relationship with Him is to be primary. He demands first place We OWE Him first place in our lives. All of life is better when He has FIRST place in our lives.
This does not mean we have to be in church all the time. It does mean we should walk with Him, be conscious of Him, and give priority to Him throughout each day. It means we really are trying to follow Him moment by moment. It is the difference between dangling your feet in the water and actually diving in.
The ocean of His grace, mercy, wisdom, and love is before you. You can stand and gaze at it, comment on its beauty, bring others to look at, or you can dive in. The latter is what we are called to. So refresh yourself today in the goodness of the Lord. Follow Him fully and without reservation. You have spent enough time observing . . . now it is time to get into the water.
