Calm in the Storm 10.14.21
"Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
26Jesus responded, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm." (Matthew 8:24-26)
I find myself at times like the disciples in the boat during the fierce storm. I immediately run to the "worst-case scenario." It is so easy to jump into panic mode.
Jesus, who was sleeping, had it all under control. He rebuked the storm, and it became calm. But notice what He said, "Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!" Here is the principle that will help us in the tough times of life: "When Jesus is in the boat, there is nothing to fear in any circumstance." Or we can make it more personal; when you are walking with Christ, you don't need to be afraid of anything. Our Lord is more potent than any circumstance.
Instead of jumping to the worst-case scenario, look to the Lord and reaffirm your trust in Him. Walk close to Him. He will enable you to overcome ANYTHING.
